The
smart phone has taken the world by storm; the definition of making calls has
been changed all thanks to the invention of the smart phones. Nowadays, a 3G or
H+ internet connectivity is used to make calls; these calls are free
of cost as they use the internet for connection. Now calling people all over
the globe have been made much simpler, and reasonable. One simply needs to
download a voice call app and register the phone number after which they can
make calls to anyone who uses the same app.
Viber
and WeChat are similar apps which provide with calling features, free of cost.
The apps enable the users to send free text messages as well, packed with
features and stickers they are fun to use and easy to operate. Now the question
may arise that if both the apps have similar features, it would not be wise to
download both and waste phone space. Choosing the better app out of the two can
be difficult, because both offer similar things. The following list provides
with the many features of both apps, read well and choose well.
·
Viber:
1)
This app uses 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity
to make calls. If the connection is strong, the calls are without breaks and
interruption. The audibility of the call depends upon the internet connectivity
of the phone.
2)
Viber comes with a number of stickers
and emoticons, which are really very cute. They are a favourite with the young
as they carry the message without any words. The stickers are really vibrant
and provide a zing to the monotonous text conversations.
3)
The group chat feature in viber makes
it an excellent choice to converse with friends and family in a group. Chatting
in a group is a whole lot of fun and viber enables its users to do it. Up to
100 members can be added to the group.
4)
Viber is mostly used for calling rather
than texting. The voice message feature in the app helps in sending messages by
means of recording rather than texting.
5)
The disadvantage of viber is that
sometimes, configuring the contacts can be a pain, and its internet usage is
very high.
·
WeChat:
1)
While Viber does not allow the user to
host video calls, WeChat can help its users to have a video conversation over
the phone. It requires a 3G or Wi-Fi connection just like Viber.
2)
The stickers used in this app are
really cute. The app supports voice messages and text messages as well. The
only disadvantage is that it does not export chats.
3)
WeChat is primarily a text app and is
mostly used to send free text messages; the Web Grab plugin makes the app even
better.
While
both apps are really good, it depends upon the discretion of the user to choose
from the two. If the user prefers voice calls then viber is the best option,
while for those who love to text and send stickers WeChat is the app to
download.
